2nd Place Finish At Rend Lake Spring Invite

2nd Place Finish At Rend Lake Spring Invite

Pirates Golf placed second in the Rend Lake Spring Invite played on April 21-22.  Only host Rend Lake College's team score of 586 outpaced NCMC's 631.  "Overall, Rend Lake hosted a great golf tournament.  The weather was amazing and the course was very scorable.  There were some differences in the putting surfaces from the front nine to the back nine, but at this point in the season, we should be able to adjust to the conditions.  Golf is a very easy game to over-complicate and the guys did just that around the greens.  We've got two weeks to get back into a rhythm of playing simple golf," commented Coach Sager.

Individually, the Pirates were paced by sophomore Cody Glenn.  He fired rounds of 71-74 (+1 overall) which was good for a 3rd place finish.  "Cody played great, taking advantage of scoring opportunities when they were available.  He played a very smart tournament and saw excellent results.  It'll be important for him to build from this and set a new benchmark for when we get to the District competition," detailed Sager.
