Pirate's basketball improved their record to 16-7 on Thursday night when they defeated Central Methodist University JV 110-68. NCMC jumped out to a commanding 65-28 lead in the opening half to set the tone in the romp.
As a team, the Pirates shot 57.3% from the field and featured seven players in double figures. Producing a double-double was sophomore wing Sterling DeSha. He netted 13 points and pulled down a game high 12 rebounds in victory. Leading NCMC in scoring was Kam Bevel with 19 points on 7-14 shooting which included four from behind the arc.
The win was a nice tune-up ahead of NCMC's next test, a trip Saturday to take on Region 16 foe Metropolitan CC. The Pirates defeated the Wolves in the Ketcham Center earlier this year 100-90.
