Strong Second Half Propels Pirates Over Peru State JV

Pirate's basketball pulled away from Peru State College JV down the stretch on Tuesday to secure their 15th win of the season.  The final score was 90-67 with NCMC outscoring Peru State 53-35 in the second half.  The win was the final prep for the Pirates ahead of Saturday's Region 16 matchup with rival St. Louis CC.  NCMC will also recognize their sophomore athletes before the game's 4:00pm tipoff.

Kam Bevel led the way for NCMC with 27 points.  He knocked in five three-pointers and shot 9-19 from the field.  Nelson Reynolds also shot the ball nicely while coming off the bench for the Pirates.  He went 5-10 for 13 points plus pulled down 9 rebounds in the victory.  Gerald Gittens and Eric Calicutt each netted 10 points.

The Pirate's defense held Peru State to 31.9% shooting and turned the Bobcats over 12 times.
