Men's basketball earned a hard fought home win on Wednesday when they downed the visiting Highland CC Scotties 77-70. The win marked their tenth of the season and pushed their current winning streak to six games. Next up will be a road test at Johnson County CC on Saturday. This game will be the team's final contest of 2022.
Nelson Reynolds led the way for NCMC with 15 points including 4 made triples. Off the bench, Carlton Thomas tossed in 14 points and pulled down a team high 7 rebounds.
Fouls plagued the visiting Scotties. They committed 21 to just 12 for NCMC. This led to a decided free throw line advantage for the Pirates, which proved to be the difference. NCMC knocked in 81% from the charity stripe and outpaced the Scotties by 17 points in that category.
