Records Fall Against Kansas Christian College JV

It was a record setting night at the Ketcham Community Center as the NCMC Pirates defeated Kansas Christian College JV 142-71.

Coach Esry's squad shattered the previous single game points record of 130 from back in 2009 against Graceland University JV.  The previous record for assists in a game (38) also fell with the Pirates dishing out 44 assists last night.  Freshman Jackson Andrews also tied the record for the most three point baskets made in a single game with 9.  That record is now shared with former Pirates star Cedric Ganaway.  Ironically, each player had 14 attempts in setting the record.  "It was fun to watch the records fall.  Our student section, which has been tremendous at every game so far this season, certainly knew that history was being made," commented SID Ryan Suttenfield.

Coach Esry was pleased with his team's performance against the overmatched KCC team.  "I was really happy with our guys' attitudes and demeanor last night.  I thought that we played hard no matter what and did a great job of sharing the ball and worrying about our teammates and their successes rather than ourselves."

Andrews led the scoring with 31 bench points.  Also off the bench, Atavian Butler continued his fine play netting 27 points.

Here are some postgame comments from Assistant Coach Brandon Gossett.

Next on the schedule is a home matchup with Southeast Community College.  That tipoff is set for 4pm in the Ketcham Community Center.
