Pirates Take Down Peru State JV

Pirates Basketball posted a 106-80 victory over Peru State University JV on Tuesday at the Ketcham Community Center.  The win pushes NCMC's record to 7-1 to start the season.  Another home contest awaits the Pirates as they take on Kansas Christian College JV tonight.

After a close first half of action that saw NCMC hold a 50-43 point lead, the Pirates depth and athleticism proved too much for Peru State to deal with in the second half.  The Pirates outscored the Bobcats 19 points in the second period.

Leading NCMC's scoring was Atavian Butler with 23 points off the bench.  Point guard Damien Loyd also tossed in 21 points in the winning effort.

Defensively, Coach Esry would like to see some improvement.
