Pirates Basketball Signs McCluer North Standout

Atavian Butler, a 6'3' guard/forward from McCluer North High School in St. Louis, MO, has signed with North Central Missouri College men's basketball.  Butler was selected to the Class 5 All-State Team by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association plus helped lead his team to a state quarterfinal playoff appearance and a 26-4 overall record.  He was also the Suburban Conference Red Division Player of the Year while averaging 20.1 points per game on 57.6% shooting from the field.  Additionally, he pulled down 7.6 rebounds per game and dished out 2.4 assists as a senior.

Head Coach Jeremy Esry had these comments about his latest signee.  "Atavian is going to bring a toughness to the team that you can never have enough of.  He is a proven winner and comes from an excellent high school program.  On the court, Pirates fans will see a little bit of everything from Atavian but will really appreciate his rebounding and athleticism.  We are excited to add Atavian to our group!"
