#10 Johnson County CC Too Much For Pirates

Pirates Basketball suffered a 92-75 defeat on the road Wednesday to #10 ranked Johnson County Community College.  The Pirates overall record is now 8-8 ahead of a home clash with Metropolitan Community College.  That game will be held at the Ketcham Community Center on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7:00pm and will be the Pirates first Region 16 action of the season.

Coach Esry had these comments about his team's efforts on Wednesday.  "Consistency remains our biggest enemy.  Johnson County came out last night and made us do some uncharacteristic things with the basketball because of their ball pressure; once we adjusted in the second half, I thought we did a lot of good things and showed what we could be.  I loved how our guys competed in the second half and never gave up.  Our goal at halftime was to win the second half and we did just that.  Unfortunately, it was too late as we had dug ourselves too big of a hole.  We showed that we can compete with a Top 10 team in the nation.  Now we just have to show that for 40 minutes."

Leading the Pirates in scoring were sophomores Cameron Lockett and Jordan Reece with 17 points a piece.
