Tough One Point Home Loss For Pirates

Last night's Pirates Basketball game went down to the wire with NCMC coming up short to Kansas City Kansas Community College 76-75.  Yacento Scott Jr. narrowly missed what would have been a game winning three pointer as time expired.  With the home loss, the Pirates are now 8-7 on the season.  Next up will be a road contest at Johnson County Community College where the Pirates will look to avenge a December 5th loss to the Cavaliers.

Coach Esry knows his team is improving but he's still looking for them to take that next step in reaching their full potential.  "Another tough one for us last night.  I think we are so close to being a good team but we haven't figured out how to win for forty minutes.  We have shown some glimpses of what we could become but in January we need to be there; we need to be doing the little things for forty minutes that are going to help us win," commented Esry.  Luckily for the Pirates, they have all the meaningful games still remaining on their schedule as Region 16 play has yet to tip off.
