Pirates Fall To John Wood CC

NCMC men's basketball fell in a hard fought game Saturday at the Ketcham Community Center to John Wood Community College 94-87.  The Pirates overall record on the year is now 5-3 following the defeat.

Major Finley led the way for the Pirates with 15 points.  Also in double digits for were Ryan Ward with 14 points, MJ Johnson with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Teyontae Jenkins with 11 points and Demetrius Houston with 10 points.  The attack was well balanced but not enough to overcome a couple outstanding efforts by Larry Plummer and Gabe McKenzie of John Wood who netted 24 and 22 point respectively.

"We just have to get more consistent on the defensive end, especially in late game situations. I think our effort is there but mentally we have to get better when we get tired and eliminate mistakes," commented Coach Esry on his team's efforts.

The team's final home contest before the New Year comes on December 7th against Johnson County Community College at 7:00pm.
