NCMC went head to head playing Overwatch against University of Texas Longhorns and Michigan State Spartans on Sunday.  Each match was best two out of three, started on the map Oasis and was played in objective game mode.  The Pirates fell 0-2 to both Texas and Michigan State.

University of Texas Game Details

Game One (Oasis Map, Objective Mode):  This game was very intense and came down to the wire with the score being 99%-99%; both teams contested the objective point for the last 1% to win the round.  The longhorns ended up overcoming NCMC to secure the round.  Round 2, the Longhorns defeated the Pirates 100%-60%.

Game Two (Hollywood Map, Assault/Escort Mode):  The Pirates started on offense and came out of the gate strong going up 2 points to 0 to win round 1.  Round 2, the Longhorns defeated the Pirates 3 points to 0 to secure the comeback win 3 points to 2.

Michigan State University Game Details

Game One (Oasis Map, Objective Mode):  The Spartans played very aggressive and secured the objective point right away.  The Pirates gave offense everything they had to secure the objective but the Spartans defense had 0 flaws and held strong until the very end.  Michigan State took round 1 with a score of 100%-0%.

Game Two (Numbani Map, Assault/Escort Mode):  The Spartans came out of the gate hot and heavy and took the game in just a few minutes.

"Even though we didn't win, it was a great learning experience for all of us and will help us go further in the season," details NCMC Co-Captain Aaron Babcock.  Cole Rorebeck, also a captain, had these comments in defeat.  "We gave it our best shot but our competition simply had more experience.  We are a much better team than we were last week and everyone on this roster shows promise.  All we need is more practice together."

Coach Flowers is not deterred by his team's defeats.  "We were evenly skilled against the Texas Longhorns, it was just a matter of them having played and practiced as a team longer than us.  As for the Spartans, we were not ready for that type of skill level and aggressiveness, which they showed in both games of our matchup.  We will be taking that game as a learning experience.  As for this coming week, we will watching film and hitting practice hard to get ready for next Sundays matchups.  I'm very proud of all of my players."
