Pirates Baseball Earns First Win On Myrtle Beach Trip

Pirate's baseball posted a 2-5 mark on their recent trip to Myrtle Beach, SC for spring break.  They competed in games from March 12-15 and earned their first victories of the season.  Here are the final scores from each game.

Through the spring break games, freshman Justin Dameron leads the Pirates in batting average at .357.  As a team, NCMC is hitting .235 and averaging 3.6 runs per game.  Leadoff man Rawlins Brant paces NCMC with 13 runs scored and has totaled 4 stolen bases.  Sophomore Bailey Quint has driven in a team high 10 runs and holds a .302 batting average.

 

On the mound, starter Kevin Toala is off to a nice start in his freshman campaign boasting a 2.04 ERA over a team high 17.2 innings pitched.  Redshirt freshman Jaden Thacker has also tossed the ball well for NCMC, holding a 1.42 ERA in 12.2 innings pitched.  As a team, the Pirates pitching staff has an ERA of 7.91.

 

The team's record sits at 2-17 ahead of a matchup on Tuesday, March 22nd with Metropolitan CC.  That doubleheader will be played at Creekside Baseball Field in Parkville, MO.
