NCMC Baseball Drops 4 Games To Lewis & Clark CC

NCMC baseball was swept this weekend by Lewis and Clark CC in their 4-game set played in Joplin, MO.  Final scores of the games were 10-5, 10-3, 12-2 and 11-5.  They will look to break through and earn their first victory of the year on Thursday when they travel to North Arkansas College.

 

The 0-12 Pirates got strong offensive performances from Hagen McGarrah (4-11, 2 runs), Rawlins Brant (4-13, 4 runs) and Tanner Wright (4-10, 4 RBIs) this weekend.  As a team, NCMC batted .257 but were plagued by the strikeout, 29 in 101 weekend at bats.

 

On the mound, losses went to Tanner Schmidt (0-3), Kevin Toala (0-2), Jesus Fonseca (0-1) and Nathan Fine (0-1).  The Pirates pitching staff walked 25 batters and pitches hit another 11 Blazer batters.  Of the 43 runs surrendered to Lewis and Clark, only 26 were earned as the Pirate's defense committed 14 errors.
