State Fair CC Takes 4-Game Set From Pirates

Pirates Baseball dropped all four games of their recent series with State Fair Community College.  With the losses, the Pirates record sits at 7-20 and 2-12 in Region 16 play.

Game One:  State Fair CC 6, NCMC 5

Game Two:  State Fair CC 14, NCMC 4

Game Three:  State Fair CC 2, NCMC 1

Game Four:  State Fair CC 4, NCMC 2

Leading the Pirates offensively in the series was freshman Braedyn Brewer who went 3-8 with 3 runs scored.  Chris Hunter added a 4-11 set of games and Logan Eickhoff went 5-14.  The Pirates were outhit in the series 34-26 by State Fair.

On the mound, Pirates pitching was highlighted by solids starts from Peyton Seiz and Brandon Whitehead.  "Our pitching seems to be buying in to our philosophy of throwing strikes and letting the defense play behind them.  Especially on games three and four, it worked to our advantage.  We just weren't able to come up with enough offense to secure the wins," commented Coach Suttenfield.

Next action for the Pirates will be a four-game home series against North Arkansas College.  These are set to be the first games played by the Pirates at their home field this season.
