Pirates Baseball went on the road Monday and Tuesday to take on Allen Community College. NCMC dropped 3 out of 4 games, with their lone win coming in the opening game where the Pirates put up 9 runs in the top of the 7th inning to complete the 14-10 win. In the inning, Quinsly Balentein hit the game winning grand slam for his second homerun of the game. Earning the win on the mound was Lucas Hampton.
In the four game set, the Pirates were outhit 50 to 30 and outscored 52 to 31. The Pirates committed 9 errors in the games while also allowing five Allen CC homeruns. Losses on the mound went to Tristen Sewell, Blake Collister, and Brandon Whitehead.
Enrique Madera continued his hot hitting at the plate. He finished the weekend 7 for 12 to push his season batting average to .545.
The Pirates next action will be on the road at Mineral Area College where they will open Region 16 play. The double headers will be played Saturday and Sunday at Hal Loughary Field.
