NCMC Men’s and Women’s Basketball District Details Released

Both the NCMC men's and women's basketball teams won their NJCAA Region XVI championships on Saturday and will next compete in NJCAA District tournaments.  The Lady Pirates, seeded #4 for district play, will travel to Matoon, IL where Lake Land College will be the host.  Their district semifinal game is against Lincoln Land Community College on Friday, April 9th with a 4:00pm tipoff time.  With a win, they would compete against the winner of the Lake Land College vs. Spoon River College semifinal for the chance to make the national tournament.

 

The Ketcham Community Center will be the host site for the men's basketball district in which NCMC will play.  The #2 seeded Pirates will take on Illinois Central College in semifinal action at 3:00pm Friday, April 9th.  Doors will open at 1:45pm.  With a win, they would take on the winner of Spoon River College vs. Danville Area Community College with a national tournament berth on the line.

 

Due to these games being a part of the NJCAA postseason, the following event details must be noted.  Cost of admission will be $7.00 for adults with kids ages 10 and under free.  Owners of red seats spot will be held but will need to pay their $7.00 admission at the gate.  Tickets for Friday's games will be good for both semifinal matchups. 

 

A ticket will be required so that the event adheres to the 25% maximum capacity for the facility.  Those 175 semifinal event tickets will be available for purchase at the Ketcham Community Center front desk or by phone (660-359-3948 x 1450) on Wednesday, April 7th from noon to 3:00pm and Thursday, April 8th from 9:00am-noon.  Tickets must be purchased with cash only, no credit card or checks allowed.  All phone reserved tickets must be picked up and paid for at the KCC front desk no later than 6:00pm on Thursday or those spots will be made available at the gate the day of the game.

 

Tickets for the championship game, which will be held Saturday at 3:00pm, will only be available for purchase at the door.  Doors of the Ketcham Center will open that day at noon and there will be 225 total tickets available.
