Dampier Evans, Men's Basketball

Dampier Evans from St. Louis, MO, has been selected as North Central Missouri College's Outstanding Student for November. Dampier is a second-year student and plans to graduate with his associate in arts degree in May. After graduating from NCMC, he intends to transfer to a four-year institution in Louisiana and keep playing collegiate basketball.

Dampier plays basketball for the NCMC men’s basketball team and lives on campus. His favorite class is English II with Instructor Stephen Williamson. Dampier said, “Mr. Williamson is a really good teacher, always willing to help me when I need it. He understands being a college athlete and student can be stressful sometimes and helps me balance it.” Dampier went on to say, “Everyone was NCMC is very nice. If you see someone, they have a smile on their face and is always helpful and friendly.”

When asked why he chose NCMC, Dampier said, “I like the small town feel of NCMC, I feel like I’m at home. I went to a small high school and didn’t want to go somewhere too big to do college life. I also get to play basketball.” He went on to say, “NCMC has helped me grow as a person, my social skills and branching out more, and I’ve made a lot of friends here.”
